Inspired my photographic floral studies of poppies, I had a lot of fun and challenge in capturing the delicacy of the poppy's petals and the gradations of color in the underside of the flower. I like that the piece is representational but not photographically realistic.

The original is oil on canvas and measures 12x12, framed in black.
